The name already gives the clue: its free-floating terrace is located at 3,440 metres above sea level and offers a stunning view of the surrounding mountain panorama. From the terrace and the panoramic seats behind sweeping glass fronts, the view falls on over 50 three-thousand-metre peaks.

The highlight among them is literally the Wildspitze, Tyrol's highest mountain at 3,774 metres. In clear weather, the view extends up to 150 kilometres! The Pitztal Glacier, Austria's highest glacier, is also just a stone's throw away.

Tip: In winter you can marvel at the sunset over the Pitztal mountains from the panorama terrace of Café 3.440 - an unforgettable experience!

Coffee enjoyment at lofty heights

Café 3.440 offers 100 seats in the café and another 60 on the panoramic terrace, all self-service and cash-only. On sunny days and weekends, the café is busy.

On mountain peaks, space is always in short supply and even in Café 3.440 it can often get quite crowded when the tables are full. Nevertheless, you should treat yourself to a hearty soup or a sweet speciality from the in-house pastry chef.

The cost of coffee and cake is adapted to the location of the café 3,440 and is significantly higher than in the valley. After all, the drinking water has to be transported fresh in canisters up the mountain every day. Tapping beer and brewing coffee also becomes a science at this altitude and poses special challenges for man and machine.

However, the fantastic panorama justifies the higher prices. You can relax wonderfully on your Tyrolean holiday with Black Forest cherry cake and "Großer Braunen" with a view of snow-covered peaks - free Wi-Fi is also available, by the way.
